The Jammu Mail train starts from Delhi (DLI) railway station at 8:05 pm for an overnight journey to Udhampur (UHP) and the final destination is Shri Mata Vaishno Devi, Katra (SVDK) junction at 7:50 am and 8:35 am respectively. Joneral coach ticket from Delhi to Udhampur is available just for Rs. 210. The train has several halts including the major halts such as Sonipat, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Ambala Cantt, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Pathankot, Kathua, Jammu Tavi, and then to the remaining two junctions from where you can get the bus for Banihal railway station.
Both from Udhampur and Katra, you may travel via bus to the Banihal Railway station for Rs. 180. Delhi to Udhampur distance is around 610 kilometers and Udhampur to Banihal distance is approximately 90 kilometers. After reaching Banihal local train charges only Rs. 45 to depart you at Srinagar railway station.
